FL-iCAN! Cosmic Mass Ritual to Resource the Power of our Earthly and Cosmic Heritage
SAINT PETERSBURG, Florida Sunday, March 23rd, 2025: Matthew Fox, Skylar Wilson and the Florida Interfaith Climate Actions Network will bring together a community of artists and musicians to create a uniquely transformative experience at The Coliseum of St Petersburg. The event will engage the community in an exercise of celebration, healing and transformation. Celebrated theologian Matthew Fox with ritual leaders Fred Johnson, Skylar Wilson and others will facilitate an interspiritual ritual journey weaving through the four paths of creation spirituality, the via positiva of joy, via negativa of grief, via creativa of communion and via transformativa of compassion and justice-making.
Participants of all ages and spiritual traditions are welcome. This will be the 117th Cosmic Mass to take place in North America. Tickets are $10, donations of more are welcome and needed to support those in need of assistance as well as the evolution of this movement! No one turned away from lack of funds. About the Cosmic Mass
The Cosmic Mass was inspired by the desire to give form and depth to the revolutionary energies of post-modern rave culture of the 1990’s. It’s also an attempt to honor and practice pre-modern indigenous and folk traditions to reinvigorate Western ritual within a participatory and shamanic frameworks. (We are each a leader – capable of our own healing and the healing of the planet, our home).
By deconstructing the passivity of modern forms of worship and reconstructing them within the immersive combination of dance/movement with electronic music, immersive visuals, spoken word and more. Emphasizing radical inclusion without sacrificing depth, past masses have included themes such as “Body As Sacred,” “Cosmogenesis,” “Gaia as Mother,” “All Our Relations,”and “Black Madonna.”

Sixth Assembly of Florida Interfaith Climate Actions Network
The Cosmic Mass: Our Sacred Earth is the closing event of the Sixth Assembly of Florida Interfaith Climate Actions Network (FL-iCAN!), which starts Friday evening. Rev. Dr. Matthew Fox will give the keynote address, “Earth and Community Healing in a Time of Crisis: The Need for Ritual”at 7pm. On Saturday at 9am, Professor Harold Wanless, Ph. D., Department of Geology and Sustainable Development, University of Miami, and author of The Invading Sea, will address extreme events from fast rising seas. Workshops will be scheduled throughout the day.
