Cancellation of 2020 Assembly
The Sixth Assembly of the Florida Interfaith Climate Actions Network, scheduled for March 13-14, 2020, in Orlando, Florida is canceled in deference to protocols for mitigating the spread of coronavirus COVID-19. Refunds will be issued to those who have paid registration fees.
The steering team chose today to cancel the event after reviewing public health information, especially as it applies to our audience and venue. It is our sincere desire to reschedule the assembly for later this year.
The cross-section of faith and community activists being drawn together by this year’s theme on Blue Green Neighborhoods represents a significant and essential conversation for shaping a just and shared future in Florida. It is, however, impractical to say at this time when the Assembly will be held. The next few weeks will reveal whether a global pandemic is underway and the severity of the spread of the coronavirus.
We intend to stay in communication with registrants and other interested parties to notify you of new developments related to FL-iCAN and to offer other opportunities for our climate action network. Our network affiliates continue to engage in real climate actions, improving their neighborhoods, the environment, and the quality of relationships in Florida communities. We look forward to sharing this work as widely as possible.
